Job Description

To support the fast-growing Optical transceiver market for high reliability applications required in Defense and Space markets, Client  is looking for a Optoelectronic Engineer who will oversee Optics and Electro-optics components for high density interconnect.  Reporting to the Design Engineering leader, the Optoelectronic Engineer will work with the Design team and the Operation team to design, analyze, document, and support the optical transceiver products development effort throughout the product life cycle.   He must possess strong analytical skills to tackle challenges in a wide range of domain such as optics, electronics, high frequency, signal integrity, opto-electronic testing and must be able to work in a multidisciplinary team to achieve results.  Furthermore, he will lead projects and will work with the management team to define priorities and best course of actions to achieve project goals.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide Optoelectronic leadership for model, design, characterization, test and qualification of high speed, high density optical transceivers.
  • Lead or Provide support for Optical transceiver design projects
  • Define product specifications / requirements
  • Model, Design, procure, build optical transceivers
    • Work with process and test engineers to ensure alignment of designs with process and test capabilities.
    • Source required components and work with relevant vendors.
    • Support prototype builds and engineering design verification to ensure compliance to requirements.
    • Work on issues of optics with other sub-systems.
    • Perform Data analysis and reporting
    • Design and conduct experiments as needed to support new product development efforts.
    • Perform root cause failure analysis.
    Support product NPI and implementation into manufacturing.
