Job Details Continuous Improvement Engineer Location Maryland Job Reference Job Type Full Time Job Function Operations Job Description An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Professional for Client. The Role will be responsible for the management of change to deliver the capabilities or solutions required to meet the company's strategic objectives. The role reports directly to Global Business Excellence Director and dotted line to Plant manager Salisbury and in turn part of the Global Operations. The assignments are related to work with Salisbury Operational Site to Deploy Lean Fundamentals and Embed Continuous Improvement culture by Training and Skill Development. The scope includes leading Key Transformational Projects, Lead and Deliver Product Moves / Duplication of capabilities from one location to other Sites Driving Change Management , Improving Operational Efficiencies by conducting end to end VSM , create Flow in shop floor and front end Processes The jobholder needs to be able to influence and drive activity without the benefit of direct line management responsibility. The jobholder will maintain a close relationship with key stakeholders to understand and manage their expectations for the Salisbury Site. This Role is crucial for the function to support: • Growth Strategy • Serve Customers with better experience, faster and at lower cost • Ensure resources People, Machines are fully utilised to deliver results • Create a culture of continuous Improvement in the operational site • Deploy Clients Excellence System, Visual Management and Drive Improvements in SPQCD Performance of the Site • Ensure Glovia BOM Routings are up to date to drive right Material and Standard costings in the system Duties & Responsibilities • Responsible for Leading large Site Transformation Projects • Responsible for sites VAVE Target by leading the initiative from start to realization of Benefits • Build and maintain effective relationships within the Value Stream(s), the business, key stakeholders and wider teams. • Adhere to change governance whilst ensuring that the final deliverables meet the stakeholders and customer's goals and outcomes. • Proactively manage cross-functional work and dependencies. § Identify and proactively manage key risks and blockers and escalate where appropriate in a timely manner. • Ensure appropriate metrics/KPIs for delivery are accessible and visible. § Works with the Plant / Functional Leadership teams to perform gap assessments on the Plant’s manufacturing system, create current and future state value stream maps, and develop Lean improvement plans and schedules. • Leads cross-functional teams through kaizen events and the implementation of the lean toolset (e.g. cellular flow, line balancing, standard work, 5S, material and information flow, total productive maintenance, quick change-over.) • Leads cross functional teams through kaizen events for business processes. • Identify opportunities and assist in technology transformation projects • Ability to build relationships across multiple diverse groups of colleagues, including Supply Chain, Global Operations, Global Sourcing, R&D, Finance, Sales, Program Management Diversity & Inclusion We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish. The Individual • Bachelor of Science Degree or Engineering discipline (desired) • PMP certified or Equivalent certification on Project Management • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified • Lean Expert or Certified on Lean Methodologies and Tools • Sound Knowledge on PPAP or Manufacturing Readiness, NPI experience desired • Good experience implementing lean Tools in a manufacturing environment. • Expert in Lean manufacturing concepts including time studies, value stream mapping, 3P \layout Transformation, pull systems, problem solving and 5S • Knowledge on Connectors and Micro components manufacturing preferred • Strong communicator able to articulate a clear vision of the future state and provide direction, focus and drive during the change process. • Ability to persistently pursue and achieve results. Uses data / analytics to proactively monitor and review plans to hit or exceed targets Previous project management experience with a proven ability to successfully manage several projects simultaneously.
