Military Program Manager ( CA )

Job purpose
The program manager (PM) will be responsible for all facets of programs assigned from our Defense and/or Space domains. The successful PM will have demonstrated expertise in managing multiple programs ranging in size from $100Ks to a few $M. The PM will develop resource loaded integrated master schedules (IMS) and manage the program from the IMS and any other related program plans, working with procurement, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure material and operations planning is accurately performed to support the delivery schedules across programs. The candidate must have ability to read and understand government DFARs/FARs based contracts and statements of work, understand requirements and deliverables, manage risks and opportunities from a risk register, and claim performance on the programs. The successful PM will conduct weekly PMRs with the integrated program team and as part of the management cadence, conduct these with senior leadership as needed.

The successful PM will also have demonstrated capture management experience, developing proposals, managing and pursuing change orders, and other growth-related activities, as part of the organic growth responsibilities within the program customer set.

Reporting Responsibilities
• Reports to the VP of Program Management and will brief program management status to the SLT
• Job Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of programs in the Defense or Space domains, or both
• Primary source of contact to the program customers for all execution management and delivery. Provide customer reviews and interchanges as necessary, and develop and implement return to green plans as required
• Responsible for organic growth within the program customer base, including but not limited to follow-on orders and change orders. Works with the domain business development managers for growth activities. Work with quoting team to ensure timely submission of quotes and proposals.
• Develop, maintain, and manage the resource loaded IMS, understanding critical path, and managing risks and opportunities within the IMS.
• Conduct weekly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with the integrated team, and also establish the cadence with the supervisor for briefings to the SLT
• Work with purchasing, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure timely delivery of customer SDRLs and assemblies. Ensure IMS integrates all operational activities to properly meet deliverables.
• Monitor inventory and analyze inventory discrepancies. Maintain records, prepare reports, furnish additional data to customers and management as requested.
• May be called upon to train other program managers on Defense and/or Space programs
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, or related field
• Five (5) years experience in Defense or Space program management
• Worked in the EMS industry
• Able to identify Blueprints, Fab Drawings, Assembly Drawings and Bills of Material.
• Knowledge of Industry Standards and Certifications.
• Familiar with Supply Chain and Electronics Manufacturing Processes
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work with and influence others
• Able to work independently without much supervision
• U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced Degree – MBA or Masters in an Engineering field
• PCBA or other electronics assemblies’ background
• PMP certification or equivalent
